 Army wounds ISIS commander of al-Jazirah district, says Samarra Operations

(IraqiNews.com) Samarra – On Sunday, Samarra Operations Command announced, that the ISIS commander (Wali) of al-Jazirah district has been wounded in an artillery strike by the army forces.

Samarra Operations said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “Yesterday evening, army forces had carried out artillery strikes on ISIS sites in the district of al-Jazirah, located in southern Samarra,” pointing out that, “The ISIS commander (Wali) of al-Jazirah district, known as Saad al-Haninah, has been critically injured alongside 7 of his aides during the artillery shelling.”

“The operation was based on accurate intelligence received by the command,” the statement read.
