(IraqiNews.com) Babel – A source in the Babel Police Command announced on Monday that the security forces have arrested 23 persons, wanted for various terrorism and criminal charges . The arrest was made during a security operation in the province.

According to information shred by the source, it was stated, “Several detachments of Babel Police Command today carried out raids and search operations at different areas of the province and successfully arrested 22 persons, wanted for various criminal and terrorism charges.”

The source added, “Babel police detachments along with the Iraqi National Intelligence Service arrested one person under Act No. 4 of Anti-Terrorism Law during a security operation at al-Mahaweel district,” adding, “The detentions were carried out based on accurate intelligence information.”

“The arrested people were later transferred to security center for interrogation,” the source continued.
