 Blast in southern Baghdad kills one Shia militia

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – An IED explosion today morning at Hor Rajab in Southern Baghdad, which was targeted on a patrol of al-Hashd al-Sha’abi, killed at least one member of the Shia militia and injured six others. This information was share by a source in the Ministry of Interior.

“The vehicle in which they were traveling was also damaged in the blast,” the source added.

“Security forces rushed to the area and transferred the dead body to the forensic department and the wounded to a nearby hospital. An operation to nab those behind the blast has been initiated,” the source further informed.

According to reports shared by the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) Iraq in July received 1996 casualties and it further pointed Baghdad as the most affected province in the country.
