Bodies found belong to Sahwa fighters

SALAH AL-DIN / IraqiNews.com: The bodies of the two young men found this morning in eastern Dalouiya district belong to Sahwa fighters, a police source from Salah al-Din province said on Tuesday. “The two youths, whose bodies were found in different areas in eastern Dalouiya district, were members of Sahwa councils,” Maj. Ali Hussein Abdullah told IraqiNews.com news agency. Earlier today, a police source said that security forces found a body of a 16-year-old youth with signs of gunshot wounds to the head and chest in al-Basateen area, eastern Dalouiya. The youth was with one of his fellow workers cutting down trees and making charcoal when they were kidnapped two days ago, the source noted, adding that the hunt was still on for the other young man. The Sahwa councils are anti-Qaeda fighters working in coordination with the Multi-National Force (MNF) and the Iraqi government. Headed by local chieftains, the councils have been credited with helping reduce violence in many Iraqi provinces, like Anbar, Diala, Ninewa, and Salah al-Din. Dalouiya is administratively affiliated with Salah al-Din province. It lies 90 km north of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. SS (P) 1
