Nineveh (IraqiNews) A source in Nineveh Police informed, on Saturday, that two policemen were killed, and another was injured, in a bomb blast in Badush Town, northwest of Mosul.

Captain Eyad Zyad said in a statement that an improvised explosive device exploded, targeting a police patrol, and killed two police officers, while injured another in the town of Badush.

Moreover, he added that the security forces transferred the bodies to the forensic medical department and the injured to the Mosul Hospital, while opened an investigation and launched an operation to search for the perpetrators of the incident.

It is noteworthy that eleven schoolboys were either killed or wounded, on Thursday, when a bomb blast targeted a school bus in a village in al-Shura district, in Iraq’s second largest city of Mosul.

The surge in violence between armed groups and government forces has resulted in the displacement of over five million persons across Iraq, while left more than 11 million people in need of humanitarian assistance, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
