(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source in the Iraqi Interior Ministry said on Sunday, that six elements of al-Hashed al-Asha’ri militia had been either killed or injured in a bomb blast that targeted their patrol south of Baghdad.

The source said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “This morning, an explosive device went off targeting a patrol for al-Hashed al-Asha’ri while passing in the vicinity of al-Yusufiyah, south of Baghdad, resulting in the death of one element and wounding five others.”

The source added, “A security force rushed to the area of the incident and transferred the injured to a nearby hospital for medical treatment and the dead body to the forensic medicine authority.”
