Bomb blast kills, wounds nine people in western Baghdad

( Baghdad – A source in the Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced on Thursday, that nine people had been either killed or wounded in a bomb blast in western Baghdad.

The source said in a statement obtained by, “This morning, a bomb exploded near a popular market in al-Bakriya area in western Baghdad, killing one person and injuring eight others.”

The source, who requested anonymity, added, “A security force rushed to the area and transferred the wounded to a nearby hospital to receive treatment and the dead body to the forensic medicine department, while cordoned off the area of the incident and barred approaching it.”
