Car bomb blast wounds journalist in Abu Dshir area south of Baghdad

( Baghdad – A source within the police force in Baghdad province said on Wednesday, that a journalist was injured in a car bomb blast that took place south of Baghdad.

The source said in a brief statement received by, “An explosive device that was emplaced under a civilian vehicle belonging to a journalist who was working in one of the satellite channels exploded while it was passing in the area of Abu Dshir south of Baghdad, resulting in him being wounded.”

The source, who asked not to be named, added, “A security force cordoned off the area of the incident and transferred the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment.”
