(IraqiNews.com) Anbar – Haditha District Council announced on Tuesday, that 40 members of the security forces were killed, including the Chief of Staff of al-Jazeera and al-Badiya Operations in two suicide attacks on their headquarters west of Ramadi (110 km west of Baghdad).

The Head of Haditha Council Khalid Sabri said in a brief statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “Today the so-called ISIS launched a suicide attack on the headquarters of the 3rd regiment of al-Jazeera and al-Badiya Operations near Haditha Dam west of Ramadi, killing the Chief of Staff of al-Jazeera and al-Badiya Operations, Brigadier General Ali Abboud,” indicating that, “The attack also resulted in the killing of four soldiers and wounding seven others.”

Meanwhile, a security source in Anbar Operations Command stated, “Three ISIS suicide bombers wearing explosive belts attacked a gathering of the security forces near Haditha Dam (170 km west of Anbar), killing three soldiers and wounding four others.”

The source, who asked anonymity, added, “The security forces reinforced their presence in the region that had been targeted by ISIS members and enhanced the security deployment in all Haditha axes in anticipation of similar attacks.”
