Nineveh (IraqiNews.com) A security source revealed that, 12 fighters from the self-proclaimed Islamic State group were killed by an airstrike conducted by the US-led international coalition on their headquarters, in eastern Mosul, Shafaaq News reported on Thursday.

“The international coalition air force bombarded a headquarters belonging to the Islamic State group in al-Thobat neighborhood, near the dentistry complex, in the eastern side of Mosul,” the source told Shafaaq News.

“The air strike also resulted in the killing of 12 militants, as well as destroying two pick up vehicles,” the source added on condition of anonymity.

Earlier today, Iraqi security forces resumed the military battle that was launched in October 17, to liberate the city of Mosul from the Islamic State’s grip.
