Coalition forces arrest 10 suspects in Iraq

Iraq-Suspects BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Coalition forces arrested 10 suspected gunmen during operations in central and northern Iraq on Wednesday and Thursday, the Multi-National Forces said in a statement. “Coalition forces continued to disrupt AQI communication networks during two related operations Wednesday night and Thursday morning near Lake Thar Thar, about 90 km northwest of Baghdad. Five suspects alleged to be associates of an AQI courier were detained during the operations,” said the statement received by IraqiNews.com. “In Mosul on Wednesday, Coalition forces targeted an AQI operative assessed to have connections to local terrorist leaders and detained one suspect,” it added. “Coalition forces disrupted AQI bomb networks with four operations Thursday. In Abu Ghraib, about 25 km west of Baghdad, forces detained one suspect believed to be associated with an area car bomb operative.” “An operation in Baghdad targeting a wanted man associated with area suicide bombings netted two suspects,” the statement added. “Coalition forces partnered with Iraqi forces during an operation in Khurmal, about 150 km southeast of Kirkuk. There, the assault force detained two suspects assessed to be associates of a wanted man involved in car bomb operations and cross-border smuggling,” it said. SH (S)/SR 1
