Coalition warplanes kill 45 ISIS elements west of Mosul

( Baghdad – On Monday, a source in the Joint Special Operations Command stated, that 45 elements of the ISIS were either killed or injured as a result of an air raid by the international coalition on gatherings for the organization that was preparing to attack security forces west of Mosul (405 km north of Baghdad).

The source said in a statement, “The international coalition aviation conducted an air strike that targeted the gatherings of the ISIS in al-Mazrae village near al-Kazak on the road of Mosul-Tal Afar,” pointing out that, “[Those gatherings] were preparing to attack the security forces,” noting that the air strike resulted in “The death of 45 elements of the ISIS and injuring others.”

The source, who requested anonymity, added, “The attack also resulted in destruction of six booby-trapped vehicles,” stressing that, “The attack was based on intelligence information about the presence of gatherings of ISIS elements for the purpose of attacking the center of Baiji and Makhoul Mountains.”

Noteworthy the ISIS organization had taken over the city of Mosul in Nineveh province (405 km north of Baghdad) on the 10th of June in 2014.
