(IraqiNews.com) Anbar – On Tuesday, Commander of Anbar Operations Lt. Gen. Mohamed Khalaf announced, that he has survived the bombing of a mortar shell that was fired by ISIS militants during his leadership of a military operation to liberate the Industrial area in east of Ramadi.

The commander of Anbar Operations Command Lt. Gen. Mohamed Khalaf stated in an interview for IraqiNews.com “During my leadership of an operation to liberate the industrial area, located in east of Ramadi, a mortar shell fired by ISIS militants had fallen directly toward us,” pointing out that, “The mortar shell resulted in injuring a high ranking officer that was accompanying me.”

“I’ve not been hurt in the shelling,” he confirmed, adding that, “I’m still leading the military operation.”
