 CTS storms into Quds neighborhood after clashes with IS

Nineveh (IraqiNews.com) A security source in Nineveh Province revealed, that the forces from the Counter-Terrorism Service stormed into al-Quds neighborhood in the eastern side of Mosul, Alsumaria News reported on Sunday.

The source told Alsumaria News, “At afternoon today, forces from the Counter-Terrorism Service stormed into al-Quds neighborhood in the eastern side of Mosul, after fierce clashes with the Islamic State’s terrorists.”

“The forces are seeking to liberate al-Quds neighborhood, which is used by the terrorist group as a headquarters to launch car bomb attacks on the nearby neighborhoods,” the source added.

“The security forces are advancing significantly in the operations,” the source further added.

Joint security forces, backed by Army Aviation and international coalition continue liberating the remaining areas of the city of Mosul, after Prime Minister Haider Abadi launched the battle to liberate Mosul in October 17.
