Diyala police arrests 7 suspects of links to Muqdadiya attacks

(IraqiNews.com) Diyala – On Wednesday, Diyala Police Command announced the arrest of seven people on suspicion of being connected to the latest attacks on Muqdadiya District north-east of Baquba.

The Commander of Diyala police Major General Jassim al-Saadi said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “A special security force from Diyala police has carried out, during the last 24 hours, a number of raids on different areas inside Muqdadiya District, while managed to arrest seven people on suspicion of being connected to the latest attacks followed the café bombing in the district.”

Saadi added, “The investigations into Muqdadiya incident are not finished yet,” pointing out that, “The district witnessed a malicious plan to provoke the sectarian strife and disturb the internal stability, but the security forces backed by the national elites and tribes succeeded to foil these plans.”
