(IraqiNews.com) The head of the Kurdistan region Massoud Barzani announced on Tuesday, that the Turkish forces entered Iraqi territory in coordination with the government in Baghdad.

Barzani said at a press conference today with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier: “According to our information, the entry of the Turkish force was coordinated with the federal government and local government earlier in the aim of training local forces to support the liberalization process of Nineveh,” noting that, “The region was not a party in the matter.”

Barzani stressed “the need to address the issue through dialogue and understanding.”
