Exclusive photos: Major General of Peshmerga killed in bomb explosion south of Kirkuk

( Kirkuk – Officer of the rank of Major General in the Kurdish Peshmerga troops and three of his bodyguards were killed in the explosion of an explosive device on Tuesday morning, in one of the villages south of the city of Kirkuk in northern Iraq, according to officials in the Peshmerga.

Colonel Burhan Sheikha said in press statements, “An explosive device exploded on a vehicle of the Major General Salah Dilmani, the commander of the 118th Brigade of Peshmerga forces, killing him with three of his bodyguards and wounding five others.”

Sheikha, one of Daquq district officers (45 km southwest of Kirkuk), explained that the explosion occurred in the village of al-Atshana, which has been restored by Peshmerga forces for nearly two weeks.
