Fartosi denies forming Iraqi Free Army similar to Syrian Free Army

Maysan, Amara (IraqiNews.com) The Security Committee of Maysan Provincial Council denied “The rumors concerning buying weapons by specific sides to form the Iraqi Free Army similar to the Syrian Free Army which fights against Syrian regime.”

The Deputy Chairman of the Security Committee, Maythem al-Fartosi, stated to IraqiNews.com that ”The rumors, which reported that there are specific sides buying various weapons from citizens with tempting prices to form what is called the Iraq Free Army in Maysan province similar to the Syrian Free Army, are groundless,” noting that “The rumors have been discussed by the security leaders and they confirmed that the rumors are groundless.”

Members of Parliament, specially MPs from southern provinces, confirmed that “There are recent activities of collecting weapons in the central and southern Iraqi provinces,” stressing that ”Its necessary to conduct all urgent procedures to foil this attempt from this suspicious planner which aims to offload these provinces from simplest weapons that help the people to defend themselves against any threats.”
