French journalist arrested in Baghdad

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi police arrested a French journalist in Baghdad last week.

A diplomatic source stated in a press conference “The Iraqi police arrested the journalist, Nadir Dandoon, who works for the French Monde Diplomatique Newspaper.”

“Dandoon was arrested for taking photographs without having a formal approval,” the source added, noting that “Dandoon was arrested in al-Dora area of southern Baghdad and there are no charges against him.”

“The Iraqi police forces assured that Dandoon is in a good health condition and they treated with him in a good way,” the source concluded.

Dandoon is 40 years old and he has the Algerian and Australian citizenships as well where the place of arresting him is not identified yet, according to the source.
