Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) On Sunday Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey said that the United Stated hasn’t yet reached the point where it requires combat troops to fight ISIS on the ground, but it may be required in the fight against ISIS militants to retake al-Mosul city.

“There will be circumstances when I will recommend sending U.S. combat troops to fight ISIS militants, but it’s a possibility that could come in the battle to retake al-Mosul city. My instinct at this point is that that will require a different kind of advising and assisting because of the complexity of that fight.” He said.

Noteworthy, Dempsey will meet his counterparts from 20 countries this week to discuss the fight against the ISIS group and the situation in the Syrian town of Kobani.
