Gunmen steal IQD 400 million belonging to oil ministry

Baghdad ( Gunmen have stolen IQD 400 million belonging to the Iraqi ministry of oil, Alsumaria News reported on Sunday.

A source from the police told Alsumaria that a group of gunmen stole today IQD 400 million belonging to the oil ministry, in the capital Baghdad.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, the source added that a security force arrived to the incident scene and began searching for the gunmen.

The source did not mention the motivations behind the indecent.

Bombings and armed attacks are seen on almost a daily basis against security members, paramilitary groups and civilians since the Iraqi government launched a wide-scale campaign to retake IS-occupied areas in 2016.

Early today, a fighter belonging to al-Hashd al-Ashaeri (Tribal Mobilization Forces) was killed in an armed attack in northern Baghdad.

On Saturday, a tribal fighter was reported killed, while another one was injured in an armed attack against checkpoint in southern Baghdad, and two civilians were injured in a bomb blast west of the capital.

More than 700 Iraqis were killed and wounded during the month of June as result of violence and armed conflicts, according to a monthly count by the United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq (UNAMI) which excludes security members deaths. Baghdad ranked the second place with 22 deaths and 88 injuries.

  1. how far is this going to go on? what i cant understand is why is this happening?all the bombings and killings that is becoming a part of daily life…i am willing to bet that a big majority of the participants have no idea and no set goal of why they are doing this…aren’t we human and have brains and tongue that gives us the power to communicate and negotiate? have we turned to savages and deal with all issues with a sward and bombs and endless and meaningless wars?
    the people of iraq need to raise their standards of living and demand a secured life full of hope and happiness and also to push and encourage each other to be civil and loyal to the country and obey all the rules and come together and stand in the face of terror and i am very sure the people will prevail as long as they are united.
