Kirkuk ( A civilian was killed by an improvised explosive device explosion in Qasbet Bashir area, south of Kirkuk, a source told Alsumaria News on Thursday.

The source said, “An improvised explosive device, from the remnants of the Islamic State, exploded in Qasbet Bashir (15 km south of Kirkuk), killing one civilian on the spot.”

“Police forces evacuated the body to the forensic medicine department and opened an investigation into the incident,” the source added on condition of anonymity.

Noteworthy, 90% of Qasbet Bashir area is destructed by IEDs planted by the Islamic State, before being liberated by Peshmerga forces and al-Hashd al-Shaabi last year.
