Baghdad (IraqiNews) Fire broke out, on Tuesday, inside a food store in the area of Karrada, in central the capital, Baghdad.

A security source said in a statement received by Rudaw News that fire broke out, at noon on Tuesday, near Baghdad Tower Hotel, in al-Karrada area, in central Baghdad.

The statement added that civil defense teams arrived in the area of the incident, and put out the fire.

Iraqi authorities have not announced the circumstances or reasons behind the fire till the moment, the statement explained.

It is worth to mention that Karrada witnessed multiple terrorist attacks over the years. On 3 July 2016, a terrorist truck bombing attack by the Islamic State killed 323 civilians on one of Ramadan evening. The attack was followed by a second roadside bomb was detonated in the suburb of Sha’ab, killing at least five.
