(IraqiNews.com) The Czech government approved a deal, worth 30$ million, to deliver 15 Czech-made fighter jets to Iraq, Czech Defense Minister Martin Stropincky said.

Stropnicky asserted the military will sell a number of 15 combat L-159 planes for 750 million koruna ($30 million) back to the manufacturer, Aero Vodochody, which will then execute the deal with the Iraqi government because the military is banned by law from making arms sales directly.

The Czech military announced it has a surplus of the L-159 fighter jets and has been looking for a buyer.

“Let’s believe … we can get rid of all the surplus planes in two to three years,” Stropnicky told the press on Monday.
