 Iraq receives new batch of Russian ‘Night Hunters’ helicopters

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Iraqi Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday receiving a new batch of the Russian Night Hunters (MI-28) combat helicopters, stressing that the aircraft are a big plus for the Iraqi Air Force.

The ministry said in a press statement, “The Army Aviation Command received a new batch of the MI-28 helicopters within the agreement between the Republic of Iraq and the Russian Federation,” adding, “The sophisticated Night Hunters aircraft have high maneuverability and precision in hitting selected targets because of its weapons, rockets and front cannon comparable to its counterpart the Apache helicopter in specifications.”

The statement added, “The aircraft are a big plus for the Iraqi Air Force in the support of ground forces in various [military] operations.”
