Iraqi forces are preparing to launch Mosul offensive, says Obeidi

( Erbil – Iraqi Defense Minister Khaled al-Obeidi announced, that the security forces are preparing for the battle of Mosul with the participation of various paramilitary forces.

Obeidi was quoted during his visit to Cairo as saying: “The Iraqi defense ministry announced security plans to launch the Mosul liberation operations from ISIS militants,” adding that, “Tens of thousands of volunteer fighters will participate in the battle alongside the government forces.”

He also pointed out, “The Iraqi army and security forces in coordination with the international coalition managed to defeat ISIS in Anbar province and Ramadi city in particular.”
