Diyala (IraqiNews.com) – Iraqi security forces arrested on Sunday three suspects in the killing of a five-year-old girl in Diyala province, a police chief was quoted as saying.
Speaking to privately-owned news agency Baghdad Today, Diyala Police Chief Major General Faisal al-Abadi said that three men suspected of slaughtering a girl child in al-Zahraa district in Khalis, north of Diyala, were arrested shortly after a security team was formed to probe the incident.
“The three suspects are being interrogated by police now,” he said, adding that the motive for the attack has yet to be determined.
Abadi pointed out that “a manhunt operation was launched to apprehend other suspects implicated in the attack.”
Zahraa Mohammed, 5, was found slaughtered on Saturday night near her house in al-Zahraa district in Khalis.
