(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Thursday, a source within the police force in Baghdad province said, that the Iraqi security forces managed to kill a suicide bomber that had entered the capital with refugees after raiding his house in eastern Baghdad. The refugee had injured 3 elements of the police by firing his weapon against them during the raid.

The source told IraqiNews.com, “This afternoon, a tactical force raided a house of one of the refugees in al-Amin area in eastern Baghdadi,” noting that, “The refugee, who was a wanted suspect, attacked the force and opened fire against it, wounding 3 elements of the police.”

“The force responded by shooting at the suspect killing him immediately, while also managed to dismantle an explosive belt that he was wearing; without causing any casualties.”

The source, who requested anonymity, added, “The operation was based on accurate intelligence received by the police suggesting the presence of a terrorist in the mentioned area.”
