Iraqi special force officer killed thwarting terrorist attack in Diyala

Baqubah (IraqiNews.com) An Iraqi officer was killed and another was wounded while confronting an attempted terrorist attack in Diyala province, media said on Wednesday.
Iraqi Alforatnews website quoted a security source saying that a special forces officer was killed while another one was wounded when they held off terrorist attackers in Maqdadiah, without giving further details.
No official confirmation was made from Iraqi security media.
Iraq declared the recapture of all territories under Islamic State extremists’ control late 2017, but continues to struggle against occasional attacks against civilians and security members.
