 Iraqi warplanes kill, wound 62 ISIS elements in western Anbar

Al-Anbar (IraqiNews.com) On Tuesday, Iraqi Interior Ministry announced, that 62 elements of the ISIS group have been either killed or injured in aerial bombing by the Iraqi Air Force (IAF) in western Anbar province.

The Hawks intelligence cell of the Iraqi Interior Ministry said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “The army’s air force have carried out a number of air strikes on ISIS gathering sites in the city of al-Qa’im, located in western Anbar,” pointing out that, “The air strikes have resulted in killing 43 elements of the ISIS group and wounding 19 others.”

“The senior military leader of the ISIS group Basem al-Khalifawy, known as Abu Azam, and the ISIS Wali of the so-called Wilayet al-Jazira Muhammed al-Hamadany, better known as Abu Khattab, were among the dead,” the statement added.
