Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) On Thursday, Baghdad Operations Command announced it foiled an attempt to drown the capital city of Baghdad in Tigris River.

The Operations Chief, Gen. Officer Abdel Amir Al-Shamri said in a press conference today,“The ISIS militants tried to open the Samarra Barrage and let the water flow to Baghdad. Their plan was exposed on the back of the battle in Muthanna and Samarra-Fallujah road.”
