Kirkuk (IraqiNews.com) An official source in Hawija Police in Kirkuk reported, on Friday, that the Islamic State group abducted a civilian west of the province.

The source told Alsumaria News that a number of the Islamic State militants abducts a civilian, yesterday, from his house in al-Makam Villages, in Riyad District, west of Kirkuk.

Furthermore, the source, who asked to remain anonymous, added that security forces carried out an operation to search for the abductors in the same area.

It is noteworthy that the Iraqi Army launched an offensive in September 2017 to recapture the district of Hawija and the surrounding areas from the Islamic State group.

The offensive was concurrent with another one conducted by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in to retake the city from the ISIS.
