“Islamic State of Iraq” leader arrested in Falluja

ANBAR / IraqiNews.com: A leader in the self styled “Islamic State of Iraq” was arrested in northern Falluja, according to a security source from Anbar province. “A force from al-Saqlawiya police station and Falluja police department has managed to detain Saadi Nayef, an amir (leader) in the so-called ‘Islamic State of Iraq’ in al-Tharthar area,” Maj. Mohammed Khalaf told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Nayef was arrested in light of intelligence reports that he has entered Iraq from Syria,” Khalaf added. “Nayef confessed to having committed several murders and informed on other members of the organization who were involved in the crimes,” according to Khalaf. Falluja lies 45 km west of Baghdad; while Ramadi, the capital city of Anbar province, lies 110 km west of the capital. SS (P) 1
