(IraqiNews.com) Anbar – The Local Council of Amiriyah Fallujah in Anbar province announced on Saturday that the security forces liberated Albu Sanaa area in southern Fallujah from ISIS grip and raised the Iraqi flag over its buildings, adding that twelve (12) ISIS members were killed during the operation.

The head of the security committee of Amiriyah Fallujah Local Council Khodier al-Rashed, in a statement issued to the media and also obtained by IraqiNews.com, said, “At noon today, the joint security forces managed to liberate Albu Sanaa area completely from the ISIS control and raised the Iraqi flag over its buildings,”

“During the operation, twelve (12) ISIS members were also gunned down by the security forces,” Rashed further stated in the statement.

Adding further, Rashed said, “The security forces from the army and police are advancing into the southern areas of Fallujah to meet the military troops currently positioned at the western sides of the city in order to storm into central Fallujah in the next few hours.”
