 Joint forces repel ISIS offensive, kill 7 militants in southern Biji

Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) On Tuesday, a security source in Salahuddin province said, that seven ISIS militants have been killed during clashes in the village of al-Mazra’ah, located in southern Biji.

The source stated to IraqiNews in an interview, “This evening, tribal fighters, with support from the Iraqi security forces, have managed to repel an offensive by the ISIS group militants on the village of al-Mazra’ah in southern Biji (located 40 km north of Tikrit),” pointing out that, “The clashes between the two sides resulted in killing 7 elements of the ISIS group.”

The source, who requested anonymity, added, “The army’s warplanes intensively flew over the area and forced the militants to withdraw by bombing three of their hideouts in the area of al-Mallaha near the village of al-Mazra’ah.”
