(IraqiNews.com) BAGHDAD – The Joint Operations Command announced on Thursday that the participation of al-Hashed al-Shaabi forces in the battle to liberate Mosul (405 km north of Baghdad) from ISIS control rely on the approval of the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces Haider al-Abadi.

The spokesman for the Joint Operations Command Brigadier General Yahya Rassoul, in a press statement, said, “Millions of leaflets have been dropped over Mosul and Sharqat, north of Tikrit, and there was a great response by the citizens of those leaflets,” adding ” This demonstrates the refusal of the citizens of Mosul, Shirqat and other cities to the existence of the organization.”

It may be mentioned here that only 10 per cent of Iraqi land is under ISIS control at present.
