Kirkuk governor reveals details of arresting Kirkuk blasts plotters

Baghdad ( The Governor of Kirkuk province, Dr. Najaf al-Din Omar Karim, mentioned in a press conference, which was attended by Kirkuk police commander and his deputy as well as the Commander of Asayish forces in Kirkuk province, the details of arresting the Qaeda network’s responsibility for the bombing that took place in Kirkuk province last Sunday.He stated that ”The Qaeda terrorist organization is responsible for the blasts in Kirkuk of last Sunday,” noting that “The awareness of people and security forces helped to arrest the first detainee who confessed through investigation about the other terrorists.””The first detainee is an Iraqi but the two others are holding the Arab nationality,” he added, stressing that ”We should cooperate and stick together to eliminate terrorism, appraising the role of the police, Asayish and people that contributed in succeeding the arrest operation.”The Governor pointed out that ”The plan of the terrorists was to attack and take control over police department and Tasfirat prison, but, we managed to foil their plans.”Security sources reported that ”Sunday blasts resulted in killing and injuring (103) people, most of them were police elements.” \
