Kurdish Peshmerga forces advance on ISIS in southern Erbil

Kurdistan (IraqiNews.com) On Wednesday, a source in Erbil has revealed, that the Kurdish paramilitary Peshmerga forces advanced on the ISIS group sites in Kowyer area in southern Erbil.

The source informed IraqiNews, “This afternoon. Kurdish Peshmerga forces attacked the ISIS group fighters in Kowyer area, located 25 km southern Erbil,” noting that, “The clashes are still ongoing with an air assistance from the coalition.”

Noteworthy, sources within the Peshmerga have said, that the Kurdish forces lifted the siege on thousands of Yazidis and regained control over large swaths of the northern part of Sinjar Mountains area.
