Mahlawi announces full liberalization of Khalidiya Island

(IraqiNews.com) Anbar – Commander of Anbar Operations Maj. Gen. Ismail Mahlawi announced that Khalidiya Island has been completely liberated from ISIS control.
Mahlawi, in a press statement, said, “Security forces and al-Hashed al-Sha’bi militia liberated Khalidiya Island completely and took control of the areas and villages of the island.”
Mahlawi added that “The liberalization came after regaining control of Albu Canaan area ,the last bastion of the organization in the island. Our forces have killed scores of ISIS members during the liberation of Albu Canaan.”
