Mawla survives assassination in Mosul

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Hajj and Umrah Commission Mohammed Taqi al-Mawla survived an assassination attempt in Mosul on Thursday.

Security source reported to IraqiNews.com Thursday “A bomb exploded targeting the motorcade of the head of the Hajj and Umrah Commission Mohammed Taqi al-Mawla at the entrance of Baghdad-Mosul road,” noting that “the explosion resulted in injuring a guard of Mawla.”

“The explosion also caused material damage for a vehicle within Mawla’s motorcade,” the source added, stressing that “Security forces transported the injured guard to the hospital for treatment.”
