Mortar attack kills 3 women, 12 volunteer fighters in Samarra

Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) A security source in Salahuddin province stated, that 3 women and 12 elements of the Iraqi Volunteer Forces (also known as al-Hashed al-Sha’bi) have been injured in a mortar attack by ISIS on Samarra.

The source informed IraqiNews, “Elements of the ISIS group have fired a number of mortar rounds at the area of Albu-Baz, located in central Samarra, injuring three women and causing damage to a number of houses in the area.”

“Another mortar attack by ISIS militants has taken place in the area of Makshifiyah, located in north of Samarra,”

“The attack has resulted in wounding 12 elements of al-Hashed al-Sha’bi forces in the area.”

“Security forces have transferred the injured to a near hospital for medical treatment,” the source added.
