Nineveh (IraqiNews.com) An official source in Nineveh Province revealed that eight civilians were either killed or wounded in a shelling in western Mosul, Shafaaq News reported on Monday.

The source said, “A civilian was killed, while seven others were wounded by mortar shells in the the old industrial area and al-Zera’i neighborhood in western Mosul.”

“The members of the Islamic State told the residents that the mortar shells were fired by Iraqi Armed Force, to create a state of hostility between the two sides,” the source added on condition of anonymity.

Noteworthy, the western side of the city of Mosul is still under the control of the Islamic State extremist group.
