(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Iraqi Defense Minister Khaled al-Obeidi and the commander of the US Central Command, Gen. Lloyd Austin have discussed on Sunday the Defense Ministry’s preparations for the battle to liberate the city of Ramadi.

The Defense Ministry said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “The Defense Minister Khaled al-Obeidi received today the commander of US Central Command, Gen. Lloyd Austin and his accompanying delegation.”

The statement added, “The two sides discussed the latest developments, especially the file of Anbar and Mosul operations, as well as the preparations of the armed forces and the Ministry of Defense for the decisive battle to liberate the city of Ramadi.”

It is noteworthy that Defense Minister Khaled al-Obeidi confirmed on Wednesday (12 August 2015), that the security forces were able to blockade the city of Ramadi.
