Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) One civilian was killed and a few others were wounded on Saturday when blasts rocked two areas in Iraq’s Salahuddin and Anbar provinces, according to Iraqi  security and press media.

The Iraqi Security Media Center said five people, including two police members, were wounded when a booby-trapped vehicle exploded at Nazzal district, Fallujah, Anbar.

In a separate incident, All Iraq News quoted a security source saying that one employee was killed and others were wounded when a roadside bomb hit their car in Baiji, Salahuddin. The victims were workers at the Siniya oil refinery, said the source.

Iraqi provinces have seen almost daily bombings and armed attacks against civilians and security since Islamic State militants took over a large part of the country in 2014 to proclaim a self-styled “caliphate”. The violence continues even after the government declared victory over the group in December 2017.

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq (UNAMI) counted 75 deaths among Iraqis due to violence and armed conflict throughout the month of September.
