Peshmerga forces kill 4 ISIS gunmen in west of Mosul

Peshmerga forces file photo. Dohuk – Peshmerga forces announced on Monday that four gunmen belonging to ISIS were killed in violent clashes in west of Mosul.

The leadership of Peshmerga forces said, in a statement received by, that “its troops have launched an offensive with heavy weapons on ISIS site in Al-Kazak region western Mosul,” indicating that, “the attack was in coordination with the international coalition aircrafts.”

“The attack resulted in the killing of four militants from ISIS,” the statement added.

It is noteworthy that the Peshmerga forces regained control of large areas of the region of Kurdistan in Mosul, while the other areas are still under ISIS control.

  1. Iraq does not mention much about the Kurds. Now there is a big Kurd victory in Syria as the Kurds seize the border town of Tel Abyad from ISIS. This town has been important to ISIS as it was the nearest border town under its control to its capital Raqqa. Now ISIS would have to try to establish other places to try to cross the border to Turkey.
