Peshmerga Official: Doubts about ISIS using Anti-Armors rockets in Mosul offensive

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – Peshmerga Official, Jamal Murtaka, revealed on Wednesday, that the battle of Mosul became a global war, and pointed out that the Islamic state group used new weapons against the security forces.
Murtaka, the leader in Makhmur-Gwer axis, said in a press statement, “There are doubts that ISIS used developed Anti-Armors Kornet rockets to attack Hayy al-Zahraa in Mosul,” adding that, “There is a global conflict over Mosul.”
“It was possible that ISIS leaves the city within a week if there was an agreement between Moscow and Washington, but due to their conflict ISIS is using new and developed weapons, especially Kornet, against the security forces,” Murtaka explained.
The Peshmerga Official also revealed that Mosul war will have long-term repercussions and consequences, and the usage of Kornet rocket, which is hardly found even in black market, raises doubts about Mosul offensive and the abilities of the extremist group.
