Peshmerga spokesman to visit Baghdad after Eid

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: Jabar Yawer, the official spokesman for the Peshmerga forces, said on Monday that he will visit Baghdad after Eidul Adha (Greater Bairam) to discuss means of activating the agreement signed recently on Peshmerga forces’ mission. Yawer told IraqiNews.com that he will head for Baghdad after Eidul Adha to meet with the members of the security and defense committee formed between the Kurdish and federal government to discuss means of activating the agreement on Peshmerga forces.” “The committee was formed after the meeting between the quartet alliance, during which they agreed to form five special committees to solve the problems between the federal and the Kurdish governments,” he explained, noting that among these problems are; oil, how to apply article 140 of the Iraqi constitution, Iraq’s security and how to defend it. The Iraqi government had criticized contracts the Kurdish government signed with a number of foreign companies for oil drilling, considering them as “illegal”. A disagreement also erupted while discussing the 2008 budget. SH (P) 1
