Provincial Council Chair, Ops Chief both survive assasination attempt in Babylon

IraqFlag(IraqiNews.com) Babylon (IraqiNews.com) On Sunday, a security source in the province of Babylon said that the Operations Commander, Saad Harbiya, and the head of the Provincial Council, Raad Hamza al-Jubouri, survived an assasination attempt by mortar attack in the north of the province.

The source said in an interview for IraqiNewes.com that “a number of mortar shells landed in the afternoon, targeting the motorcade of the Operations Commander of Babylon, Saad Harbiya and the head of the Provincial Council Raad Hamza al-Jubouri, while passing in terms of the rock cliff in the north of the province, without causing any human losses or any damage,” noting that “Harbiya and Jubouri were unharmed.”

The source, who requested not to be named, said that “the security forces surrounded the scene and prevented people from approaching it. They carried out a search operation in search of shells launchers.”
