Rapid Intervention Forces apprehend IS Emir in Tarmiyah
Iraqi security forces arrest a suspected member of the Islamic State group

Baghdad (IraqiNews) An official source informed, on Sunday, that the Rapid Intervention Forces managed to apprehend one of the Islamic State group’s Emirs, in Tarmiyah District.

The source said in a press statement that Iraqi Rapid Intervention Forces apprehended the terrorist Sabbah Mahmoud, during the ongoing operation “Will of Victory”, in Tarmiyah District. He further added that the terrorist is one of the Islamic State’s Emirs in the district.

Moreover, he added that the apprehended terrorist is very dangerous and conducted many attacks against civilians and security forces.

A number of wanted terrorists were also apprehended along with the IS Emir, the source explained.

It is noteworthy that the Joint Operations Command announced launching the second phase of operation “Will of Victory”, yesterday, to boost stability in the areas north of Baghdad, in addition to the vicinity of the provinces of Diyala, Salahuddin and Anbar.
