Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Islamic State group, on Sunday, released another statement via its website Amaq, revealing the details of the suicide attacks that hit the Coptic Church of Mar Girguis in the city of Tanta and Saint Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Alexandria, as well as disclosing the identities of the suicide bombers who carried out the attacks.

The group said in the statement that its member ‘Abu al-Bara’ al-Masry’ blew up his explosive belt in front of Saint Mark’s Cathedral in Alexandria Province, while another member, known as ‘Abu Ishak al-Masry’ detonated his explosive vest “amid a gathering of crusaders’’ in Mar Girguis Church in the Egyptian city of Tanta.

Furthermore, in the statement, the terrorist group threatened, who it described as “crusaders and apostates” with more attacks.

The statement released by the Islamic State, revealing the identities of the suicide bombers who attacked the Egyptian churches.

Earlier today, during Palm Sunday celebrations, a suicide attack hit the Coptic Church of Mar Girguis, in the Egyptian city of Tanta, killing 30 persons and injuring more than 70 others.

Nearly four hours later, another suicide attack hit Saint Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Alexandria Province, killing 17 persons, including the church security members, and wounding 35 others.

Following the attacks, the Islamic State group released a statement via its website ‘Amaq’ claiming responsibility for the attacks on the Egyptian churches.
